BATHROOM RENOVATION MASTERCLASS
Plan Your Bathroom Like
a Professional
Plan a bathroom around how it needs to work, not simply how it looks. Explore layout, storage, lighting, practical details and the decisions worth resolving before construction begins.
Date: To be announced
Format: Live online
Duration: 90 minutes
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
A small room with a surprisingly large number of decisions.
Bathrooms are often one of the most technically demanding spaces in a home. Plumbing, drainage, waterproofing, lighting, storage and ventilation all need to work together before the finishes are chosen.
In this masterclass, architect Magda Stanescu and The Space Coach founder Brielle Jones take you through the decisions that shape a bathroom long before tiles and taps are installed.
We’ll look at what to resolve first, what your room can realistically accommodate, and how to make practical choices that still result in a calm and beautiful space.
Understand the bathroom before you start building it.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
We focus on the decisions that are difficult or expensive to change once construction begins.
01
Get the layout right first
Understand how circulation, door swings, shower dimensions, vanity depth and sanitary fixtures affect the way the room actually works.
02
Work with the technical realities
Learn why plumbing routes, drainage, waterproofing and existing services can determine what is possible before aesthetics come into play.
03
Plan storage around real routines
Decide what genuinely needs to live in the bathroom and where it should go, from daily toiletries to towels, cleaning products and spare supplies.
04
Design better lighting
Layer functional and ambient lighting so the room works for getting ready, showering and winding down without relying on a single ceiling light.
05
Choose materials more intelligently
Think beyond appearance and consider maintenance, slip resistance, grout, durability, cleaning and how materials behave in a wet environment.
06
Resolve the details before construction
Know which decisions need to be final before walls close and tiles begin, including niches, outlets, mirrors, fittings, hooks, towel rails and accessories.
Two perspectives. One better bathroom.
A bathroom has to work technically, spatially and practically. This workshop brings those perspectives together so the decisions are connected from the start.
